Take the great outdoors, iconic movies and combined the two, for the perfect summers evening entertainment, and all at a competitive and affordable price. That's exactly what Cinestock set out to achieve when it started in the summer of 2013 with our first ever screening in the town of East Grinstead, West Sussex.
Owned and managed by Genetic Promotions UK who has been hosting, managing and touring artists and events of their own as well as World class music & entertainment brands including; The Ministry of Sound, God’s Kitchen, Hed Kandi, & MTV for the last 20 years.
Cinestock was formed 6 years ago by Genetic Promotions UK and within that time regardless of being a small independent Open Air & Drive-in Cinema company, last year we managed to become the largest independent open air cinema provider in the UK. Cinestock is by no means the longest running outdoor cinema provider in the UK we just do Open Air Cinema and Drive-in Cinema events well and by effect we have many repeat clients year on year.
Last year saw us putting on shows from June through to October, with screenings across the UK and overseas. We had over 30 screenings last season and we worked alongside outstanding venues and locations to bring our own and partnered events to the general public, private clients, venues, festivals, universities, corporate events and exhibitions.
We always strive to bring something unique and different to our seasons, and aim to make our events standout from the competition. For example, we bring live music performances before each of our own screenings. Such approaches teamed in with other unique elements make events we create and manage, unforgettable to our audience and see high return rates from both the general public at our events, but also a high return rate from our private and corporate hire clients.
In our 2nd year of business being that of the 2014 season saw us expanding our events whilst also introducing a completely free screening to aid charity. This screening took place in East Grinstead, West Sussex, UK and was set in the towns historic high street that dates back well over 500 years. This hugely popular event featured live music from international performing artist Jono Harrison alongside other local based singer songwriters as well as a stripped down orchestra made up by members of the London Philharmonic and Halle Orchestra’s before we hit play on the Spielberg’s classic ‘E.T’.
The screening was a huge success being attended by over 1600 people and is nice to have people still speaking with us about this event some 4 years later. Summer 2015 arrived and in true Cinestock Style we kept up the momentum by once again expanding into new areas, the season saw us introduce the classic American style drive-in cinema nights to our summer season of films under the stars. The 2015 season had a total of 15 Screenings as well as going international with our Open Air Cinema package in conjunction with partners Maggie Mae's on the island of Zante in Greece. We worked alongside the stunning Godstone farm to bring a mini season in partnership with them of 3 iconic 80’s and 90’s film screenings.
2016 saw us increase our number of screenings and the length of our season so much that we became the UK’s largest independent Open Air & Drive-in Cinema provider. We had over 30 screenings and worked alongside some of our regular venues being those of Sackville School and lake side of the banks of the Weirwood Sailing club for the screening of Jaws for the films 40th anniversary.
For the last 3 years we’ve been providing pop up cinema screenings for Universities up and down the country during their fresher week events. Every year we increase upon this and this year plans to be no different when it comes to the University market.
As for our open air and drive in cinema season for the general public, we are in the final stages of this, with the finalising of venues and films that we will be screening. This summer will see Cinestock showing films across a wider remit of venues across more counties.
We look forward to bringing you our 2018 season of films and hope -like us- you have as much fun enjoying the nights as we have had in creating them for you. Why not join our mailing list and keep in touch, so we can let you know about upcoming screenings both in the UK and internationally.
