Set within 383 acres of breathtaking parkland and ancient woodland, Borde Hill surrounds a majestic Elizabethan Mansion and boasts views stretching across the Sussex High Weald. Known as “one of the country’s truly great gardens” by Country Life, it’s a paradise for plant lovers and outdoor explorers alike.

First planted over a century ago by the visionary Colonel Stephenson R. Clarke, this extraordinary garden features one of the UK’s rarest private collections of champion trees and exotic shrubs, many sourced from pioneering global plant-hunting expeditions. Today, Borde Hill’s unique ‘garden rooms’ include the dramatic Azalea Ring, tranquil Italian Garden, sub-tropical Round Dell, and exquisite Rose Garden.

Our summer open-air cinema nights take place on the South Lawn, set against the stunning backdrop of the Elizabethan House. Guests are invited to explore the gardens from 6pm before settling in for an unforgettable night of cinema beneath the stars. With a full bar, delicious street food, and the serenity of Borde Hill after hours, it’s a magical experience not to be missed.
