The Films: The Snowman

The Snowman (1982) is one of the most treasured animated films of all time, based on Raymond Briggs’ beloved book. Voiced by David Bowie in the iconic introduction for many international releases, this enchanting, wordless masterpiece follows a young boy whose snowman magically comes to life on Christmas Eve. Together they take flight across the night sky to meet Father Christmas, voiced with unforgettable warmth by Mel Smith. Featuring the world-famous song Walking in the Air, sung by Peter Auty, this timeless story of friendship, wonder and loss continues to captivate generations.

Film 2 - The Snowman & The Snowdog -

The Snowman and The Snowdog (2012) is a heart-warming sequel to the timeless 1982 classic. When young Billy (voiced by Benedict Cumberbatch) moves to a new home following the loss of his beloved dog, he discovers a snowman-making kit hidden beneath the floorboards. Inspired, he builds a Snowman and a playful Snowdog, both of whom magically come to life at midnight. With music by Ilán Eshkeri and Andy Burrows, this beautifully animated adventure carries the same charm and wonder of the original, as the trio soar above snowy landscapes, journey to the North Pole, and discover that love, friendship, and Christmas magic can heal even the deepest loss.

It’s two Christmas film favourites that simply bring the holidays to life and get you in the holiday mood.
